Miles reunited with Carol Channing + 2 costar Richard Skipper!

Richard Skipper was approached by Wings Theatre Company to bring his hit Cabaret show Carol Channing In Concert Starring Richard Skipper! to Wings for a 4 week run. Richard had long planned to mount a theatrical tribute to Carol and when this opportunity presented itself, he asked Miles to help him adapt the show into a two act theatre piece. Miles costarred with Richard and Parker Scott back in 2001 in the MAC winning Carol Channing + 2 and has been a friend and fan for years, so of course he said yes!
The resulting show is a blast from beginning to end!
Miles says: "For those of you who've never seen MAC and Bistro Award winning Richard as Carol, let me tell you he is AMAZING! I've had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Channing on a few occasions: over tea, at parties, etc., and Richard captures her heart, joy and genuine spirit (not to mention a dead-on, never mean-spirited impression) with heartstopping accuracy. Your face will hurt from smiling!"
The show played to packed houses and standing ovations for previews and the limited run promises to be a sell-out, so if you plan to catch the show, be sure to make your reservations early!

The show opened at Helen's Hideaway Room in June of 2006 and has garnered awards and rave reviews around the world. Orignally a ninety minute cabaret show, it is now moving to the next level as a two act evening of theatre. it is a loving tribute and has Carol Channing's endorsement. In this exciting evening with one of Broadway's greatest treasures, Skipper takes his audience back to a time of clean wholesome entertainment, featuring highlights from Channing's career.
Richard Skipper's tribute to the legendary diva is so extraordinary that it becomes nearly impossible to distinguish between the two.
Carol Channing herself agrees, saying, "... this is the first time ever I have been shown with so much love, respect and polish. Richard Skipper is a TRUE MUSICAL COMEDY STAR! He is FABULOUS AS ME!" Visit www.RichardSkipper.com for more information.

An Evening Of Short Musicals
Written by students of NYU's
Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program
Miles recently appearied in the premiere performance of Memento Mori, one of three new short musicals presented
at The Laurie Beechman Theatre
.
Memento Mori
by Rob Broadhurst & Maggie Coleman
featuring:
Lisa Asher, Sarajean Devenport, Daniel Lincoln, Miles Phillips, Eddie Varley
.
Directed by Phil Geoffrey Bond
Musical Direction by Ray Fellman
.
The very talented composing team of Rob Broadhurst and Maggie Coleman have written an exploration of death ("Memento Mori" tranlates roughly as "remember you are mortal"), that is hilarious, insightful, disturbing and moving. Without giving too much away - imagine the love children of Stephen Sondheim and William Finn writing a musical with Ionesco about a "typical" teenager facing death as he struggles with his college application, and you'll get a hint of what's in store!
.
The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located at 407 West 42nd Street, within The West Bank Cafe.

Miles starred with some of Broadway's brightest at the season's first Broadway By The Year concert at Town Hall on Monday, March 6th!
The Broadway Musicals of 1930
Marc Kudisch directed a stellar cast that included
Nancy Anderson, Sean Martin Hingston, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Shannon Lewis, Deven May, Douglas Ladnier,
Miles Phillips, Jennifer Simard, Emily Skinner, Mary Testa and Michael Winther!
Producer/Creator/ Writer/ Host Scott Siegel said:
"When I discovered the remarkable number of famous songs that were born on Broadway in 1930, I promised myself that I'd spread the wealth and put together one of the largest, if not the largest, cast ever assembled for one Broadway By The Year concert. I wanted the best people in town singing the most stunning music Broadway has ever given us."
The cast sang songs by Cole Porter, The Gershwins, Rodgers & Hart and a slew of other great composers that were working at the top of their game in 1930. Songs like "I've Got A Crush On You," "On The Sunny Side Of The Street," and "Get Happy" are just a few of the standards that were introduced on Broadway that year.

"We can finally breathe a sigh of relief: Broadway by the Year has returned to Town Hall, and all is right with the world."
BroadwayWorld.com
"In what may be the finest entry to date in the popular Town Hall series, that haul was revisited by an attractive assemblage of Broadway principals and gypsies who strolled through some two dozen showtunes, many of which became durable standards."
