A classically trained actor, Miles effortlessly jumps from classical theatre to musical theatre to television and film. He recently received glowing notices for his compellingly sympathetic turn as Ebenezer Scrooge in Diamond Head Theatre's delightful production of A Christmas Carol: The Musical. Favorite theatre performances include Arthur in Camelot, Banco in the New York premiere of Ionesco's Macbett, Higgins in My Fair Lady, Jameson in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Bassanio in both The Merchant Of Venice and the world premiere of its award winning new sequel The Doctor Of Rome, Cliff in Cabaret, Captain von Trapp in The Sound Of Music, Garry in Noises Off, and Gepetto in the new musical Pinocchio of Chelsea. Phillips has been honored with several acting awards, including the Hollywood Drama-Logue Award for his performance in Camelot and, most recently, the Hawai'i State Theatre Council's Po'okela Award for his acclaimed portrayal of Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol: The Musical.

In 1998, Miles was approached to play the lead in an independent short film. He'd worked with the director, Jorge Cabrera on a previous film. Cabrera asked Miles for his thoughts on the new project and after hearing his ideas asked Miles to write a completely new screenplay. The re-titled KEEPERS addressed the topic of gay Catholic priests and child molestation from the radical new perspective of priests sequestered on a retreat while the church determines what action to take when accusations are made. It did not end up finding a distributor, but Miles' work as both actor and screenwriter received glowing praise from audiences and critics.
